LocateMe on iPhone 1.1.2 firmware
January 21, 2008
LocateMe from Soneso calculates your current location based on cell information in much the same way as the new Maps application does on the 1.1.3 firmware. You have to start LocateMe, wait until it calculates your position and then tap show on map so it’s not quite so smooth as the 1.1.3 version of Maps.
If you want this capability and are still running 1.1.2 follow these instructions (you have to have Installer.app already installed):
Go to Installer -> Sources than add a new source named: http://www.soneso.com/iphone
After doing so you will find a new install folder named Soneso (Installer -> Install). You’ll find LocateMe in this folder tap it and then tap Install.

why did you make people think it’s a DOT COM page, when you link to a DOT DE (Germany) page?

Firmware 2.1 contains the same functionality built in to the Maps app, just use that. Seems like Soneso has become more focused on games these days.
